The Reason - We're So Beyond This feat. Sara Quin
Together since 2003, The Reason received a decent amount of hype and acclaim within their native Canada. While their previous material has leant towards the pop/punk category, their new single “We’re so beyond this” shows a band developing a more multi-dimensional sound. The song is one of incredibly hooky guitar lines and flawless harmonising of lead singer Adam White’s vocals mixed with guest feature Sara Quins. For some reason it feels more and more rare that you get treated to the mixed harmonies of powerful male and female voices, but on this deliciously addictive slice of emo/pop-rock you see what you’ve been missing. The song has a powerful pop melody with vocals that manage to be raw and uninhibited, without venturing in to screaming or whining territory. This single could easily be the song to break them out of Canada and into worldwide.
